THE PLAN III – Petraeus and the three-dimensional chess in the dark

THE PLAN I – Terror Attacks and captured US soldiers
THE PLAN II – The Kurdistan Plot and The Mother Of War

THE PLAN OF PETRAEUS

On May 05 Gen. Rick Lynch, who oversees about 26,000 American forces in an area bounded by the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers south of Baghdad and including Mahmudiya and Yusufiya, describes the struggle in Iraq as „three-dimensional chess in the dark“. (29)

What does he mean by that?

Well, Maj. Gen. Lynch is commander of the Multinational Division Center/TF Marne/3rd Infantry Division in „Camp Victory“, Baghdad.
Gen. David Petraeus is his superior officer. (23)

Petraeus gained a reputation at MNSTC-I („Multi-National Security Transition Command Iraq“) as an effective motivator of Iraqi troops, making many visits to frontline Iraqi units to perform inspections and boost morale, and during his January 2007 Senate testimony, he described both punitive measures he took against Iraqi units that did not live up to expectations and rewards he gave to those units that performed well.
One officer who served under Petraeus at MNSTC-I wrote that after working for the general, he was convinced that „He will re-energize a tired U.S. mission in Iraq and refocus their objectives. He is a superb counterinsurgent, and the American people will start to see results in Iraq instead of stagnation.“

In April 2007, Petraeus made his first visit to Washington as MNF-I commander, reporting to President Bush and Congress on the progress of the „surge“ and the overall situation in Iraq. During this visit he met privately with members of Congress and reportedly argued against setting a timetable for U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq.(23)

A few hours ago Gen. David Petraeus sent a letter to U.S. Troops under his command (24).
It goes:
„Our values and the laws governing warfare teach us to respect human dignity, maintain our integrity, and do what is right. Adherence to our values distinguishes us from our enemy“.

Values like Freedom, Democracy and forthrightness, I guess.
But to me it appears, that thousands of soldiers and hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, good people, died in a war based on lies.
This war is about to win at all costs.
„In war, there is no substitute for victory“. Another well-known General said that before (26).

And it`s about something else.

„Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it, have never known it again.“

Ronald Reagan said that (25). And now just have a look at your country, after September the 11th and stuck in this Middle East War.

Gen. David Petraeus:

„This fight depends on securing the population, which must understand that we – not our enemies occupy the moral highground. This strategy has shown results in recent months. Al Qaeda`s indiscriminate attacks, for example, have finally started to turn a substantial proportion of the Iraqi population against it.“

Seymour Hersh, March 5, 2007:

„In the nineteen-eighties and the early nineties, the Saudi government offered to subsidize the covert American C.I.A. proxy war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. Hundreds of young Saudis were sent into the border areas of Pakistan, where they set up religious schools, training bases, and recruiting facilities. Then, as now, many of the operatives who were paid with Saudi money were Salafis. Among them, of course, were Osama bin Laden and his associates, who founded Al Qaeda, in 1988. This time, the U.S. government consultant told me, Bandar and other Saudis have assured the White House that `they will keep a very close eye on the religious fundamentalists. Their message to us was `We`ve created this movement, and we can control it. It`s not that we don`t want the Salafis to throw bombs; it`s who they throw them at – Hezbollah, Moqtada al-Sadr, Iran, and at the Syrians, if they continue to work with Hezbollah and Iran.`“ (6)

Although I´ve never heard the phrase „Al Qaeda“ before 9/11, the very point is – it was the U.S. Military, the U.S. intelligence services, the U.S. Government – or in other terms, the executive branch of the United States of America – who actually funded and helped founding this murderous militias and mercenary groups – to beat the Sowiet Union.
Because there were no substitute for victory.

And now the U.S. executive branch is funding Al Qaeda groups again, and pleading their own kicked off the board three-dimensional chessmen to leave this world without grumbling.
For what? Why would they do that?

September is the end of the federal fiscal year, and soon after that the Bush administration will have to submit another war-funding bill under vastly changed political circumstances.

In September Gen. David Petraeus has to submit a report on the progress of the war and the Baghdad security plan. That report is said to be crucial for the ongoing of the Middle East War and the fate of the Bush Government (27), regarding the fact that the Americans want their troops back home and safe. They also want the war come to an end, as soon as possible.

So, the Commander of the Iraq War Zone, Gen. Petraeus, will have to find a reason for staying in Iraq.
And a reason for staying in command there, too.

What could that be? Does anybody down there still believe in some sort of „military victory“? So where is the chance, where is the opportunity to turn the tides?
The only option is to weaken the enemy forces by splittering them and to get more friendly forces into play.
Like the Germans. Like the French. Like the Israelis. Like the Turkish. And like the Kurds.

Where are these forces?
There are already in position. There are all around of Syria.

And now it´s getting complicated: what about the Iranians?
If there is some sort of „deal“ between the Ahmadinejad regime and the U.S. Government – and do not mistake a regime with a country and its people, for noone should mistake the United States of America with this Neocon „Cult“ which has seized the White House – then there would be a way out of this imaginary military blind alley.
I wrote about this in „A Syria War?“ on March 13.(28)

In my understanding there are no U.S. Soldiers who have been captured. This is all but a bluff. No names have been released, no photos shown.
If you wanted to weaken the position of a possible hijacker that would have been the first and most important step.

There is something going on in Kurdistan, troops are moving, weapons get stored, tentions are high.
A bow just gets stretched for being released at a certain point of time. Something´s going to happen.

To make an army march you need support from the home ground. And that´s going to be organized. Not only in the U.S.A. – this is the turning point of human history.
Either this Western War goes on and on and on and on and so on, or the West will change radical.
No need to fear that. In fact, it has to.

The values of the „West“ – let´s say, the U.S.A, Europe, Israel, Australia, and other „allies“ under the main hegemony of the Planet Earth – actually are not in charge, the promises of Democracy, Freedom and Equality of Chances are not full-filled.

So, if you are fighting, soldiers, agents, contractors, you are not fighting for Freedom, your country or your families. You do it for money.
You are fighting for a certain apparatus of economics, which has taken control over politics and polity.
This war is about stabilizing the Ruling, and it has been from the start.
Do not come up up with silly excuses. Do not try to runaround this issue. Do not try to feign, I guess you are already tired of that.

The real enemy you have to face is the one who does not want to go to war.
There is no help coming for you. You will not succeed. You will get back to where you once belonged, and pray that you still do.
Because there is no substitute for being home.
