„Das nicht ganz geheure Triumvirat“, wie die „Washington Post“ gestern Israels Aussenministerin Tzipi Livni, Ministerpräsidenten Ehud Olmert und Verteidigungsminister Ehud Barak nannte, ist bis auf die Knochen blamiert und steckt in der Kriegsfalle die sie selbst ausgehoben hat:nur 19 Prozent befürworten laut einer Umfrage der „Haaretz“ einen Einmarsch von israelischen Bodentruppen im Gazastreifen. Genauso viele befürworten sofortige Verhandlungen mit der demokratisch gewählten palästinensischen Hamas-Regierung über einen Waffenstillstand.
